Forming Leaders for the Future
At El Colegio de Panamá, a complete education encompasses academic development and personal growth. The Mighty Eagles represent our commitment to forming students who excel academically and as individuals of integrity and responsibility. This program fosters fundamental values such as honesty, respect, and empathy, essential elements for personal and professional success.
Why Mighty Eagles?
The name "Mighty Eagles" was chosen for several reasons. According to the Real Academia Española dictionary, the eagle is a bird of prey, known for its keen vision, strong muscles, and rapid flight. It's also used to describe people who are sharp and perceptive.
The eagle has been used as a symbol in various ancient and modern contexts, including the Roman legion and modern armies. It appears on the gold coins of Spain, Mexico, and the United States of America, as well as on the coat of arms of the Republic of Panama.
The Mighty Eagles program offers students opportunities to participate in community service projects, personal development activities, and workshops that promote self-awareness and emotional self-regulation. These experiences are designed to inspire our students to be responsible leaders and committed citizens, prepared to face the challenges of an ever-changing world.
"The Harpy Eagle is unique in its genus, being the largest in the hemisphere and one of the strongest animals in the world. It possesses extraordinary vision, occupies the highest level of the food chain, and plays a significant role in ecosystem balance. It inhabits humid tropical forests from Southern Mexico to Northern Argentina. In Panama, it can be found in mountainous regions of the Caribbean where large amounts of forests still exist."
